Lydon Ovens are used to cure the coatings that bind wire into coils in all sorts of electrical and electronic devices; such as electric motors, voltage and current transformers, electromagnets. Lydon Coil Baking ovens contribute to the quality of generators and motors for submarines and railroad equipment; electrical transformers for power distribution systems on utility poles or on printed circuit boards; magnetic coils in medical equipment or particle accelerators. Lydon Oven systems manage water-based and solvent based coatings with quality and safety variations for each.
The example is a Lydon Model Series 3321 built for large coil windings with axis in the vertical. Air flow is vertically down along the axis. This model series is built in a variety of heights and materials handling configurations. With the addition of Lydon's Volatile Ventilation Management system, this type of oven can manage the volatile fraction of the coating below the lower explosive limit to minimize the risks of combustion. Alternatively, this model series (and others for similar applications) may have reduced oxygen atmosphere to limit the hazard.
