Thermoforming of acrylic and other sheet products is a matter of user preference regarding the position and handling of sheet materials. Some users use a vertical sheet orientation and "drape" the heated material for forming while others prefer processing and handling the sheet in the horizontal. The Lydon Oven shown provides for materials handling in the flat, or horizontal position. The material is placed on a shuttle car in front of the oven, then rolled into the hearth for heating. The car is then returned to the load/unload station and the material may be moved in any of three directions for subsequent processing.
