Lydon Ovens for Twist Setting are most frequently a Lydon Steam Box renamed for its most common use: The setting of the fiber twist in natural and man-made yarns. Lydon combined dry heat control with wet bulb control and developed programmed control systems for this group of special textile ovens.
Lydon Steam Box Ovens and Twist Setters operate from ambient temperature to nearly the boiling point of water using either steam or electric heat. Wet bulb temperatures generally lag the dry bulb by up to 10°F. Psychrometric program control is standard. This special process approach is ideal for textiles of all kinds and for many other products whose behaviors are similar to textiles.
